About Us

 

White Square – Fine Books & Art is an old-style bookshop nestled in an eclectic area of authors, artists, galleries, restaurants, and colleges in the Pioneer Valley, on the western edge of Mt. Tom.

 

The name White Square is borrowed from La Place Blanche, one of the small plazas along the Boulevard de Clichy in Paris, where, in the early 1900's, clouds of chalky dust were churned up by carts carrying plaster of Paris and where Degas, Picasso and other artists lived and worked.

 

We serve as a  literary resource for our community and as a destination point for sophisticated collectors.  We sell books and art and host events and conversations with both local and national authors and artists.

 

We're thrilled to bring the ambience of a literary salon to Easthampton's Cottage Street Cultural District and to live and work in this wonderful city!
